Most articles you find about buying and selling usually have to do with finding things wholesale or going to yard sales and thrift stores to find items to sell on eBay. There aren’t many tutorials out there that tell you how to find stuff an eBay and sell them elsewhere.
This is a simple tutorial on how to buy cheap jewelry on eBay and sell the jewelry on OfferUp and LetGo which I have a review about the both of them.
Go to eBay and click on the search by category button and go to “jewelry and watches” then “fashion jewelry.” Then click on “auction” and “time ending soonest.” Look at the ridiculously low prices that things are selling for. Time everything just right. There are items ending within seconds apart so you need to keep up with it. You will see something like a ring or a bracelet at twenty one cents with a minute and forty seconds left. If you have an eye for what looks good, that helps. Also if it is something that you like that helps also. I don’t generally buy jewelry that doesn’t look appealing to me but I’m not really as concerned with the look of the jewelry but the price.
I have sniped jewelry as low as thirteen cents and you can snipe them for even less. I just saw a brooch end at eleven cents. I’ll add to this big factor FREE SHIPPING! Yes. These rings and bracelets and necklaces and brooches are selling for pennies with free shipping! That’s crazy. I don’t know how they do it but they do it. I will say though that this stuff is coming from China and it takes sometimes a month before you get it so be prepared to wait a while but the payoff is worth it.
After you have waited for a good period of time and get the jewelry in the mail. Simply put them up on LetGo.com or OfferUp.com. With LetGo you can post a listing either from your computer or your phone. With OfferUp you need to use your phone. You will need to go to the App store and download the apps for these platforms.
Then you list the jewelry for whatever you want. In the photos below, you will see the ring I sold on OfferUp. Both are really for local viewers but OfferUp now allows shipping. I had this ring on there listed for $12 (they will try to talk you down so list for a bit more than you expect to get out of it). In 52 minutes it had 181 views and an offer. We negotiated and I settles for $8. I paid .36 cents for the ring! After fees I made $7.37 or $7.01 profit.
Now if you bought several rings or constantly was buying them and selling them on the classified sites, think of the potential. You could make quite a bit in a day just selling cheap jewelry. You could also sell these to friends and neighbors. If you bought up a few dozen of them you could open a booth at the flea market and sell them all day long!
The main photo of this post is the one ring I bought that is the main focus of this post and below are the views I got from these rings in just an hour.
